Memory of Childhood
Illustrated by Stephen Stanish

In the night, you see a crumpled shirt, you threw aside to get quickly into bed. Now it stares back at you in the darkness, a terrifying spectre. You wonder, “Should I rearrange the shirt quickly without being overwhelmed by its power?” You take the risk, and a new and more powerful and horrible grimace appears. The shirt quickly transforms itself into ever-changing monstrous creatures. Exhausted, you fall asleep by giving yourself up to its gaze.  Morning arrives, and the drab grey shirt reveals itself as the most ordinary of things.
